Apologies on not posting in a LONG time ... but here goes!

So busy lately. Been a long time since I updated. BUT ... I am still here and alive. Still kicking.

Got a great new job, and great new opportunities. So whats been going on lately?

School -- Work -- Fam (Stephen is here!!!) -- That's pretty much it.

Sleeping occasionally ...

But all in all very happy, and fulfilled. I hope this post finds you in the same condition, friend.

Excitement for new experiences, fear of unknown, sadness for being away from family, aspiration of achievements, and this strange feeling in my stomach ... like when I was a little boy, trying to sleep the day before a big trip.

Well everybody, the new site is ONLINE!!! I hope you enjoy it. I am going to be working on it a lot more consistently. I hope that it will be a great tool for me to publish some of the experiences that I am going through.

In recent news, I had two more of my wisdom teeth out. Man, that HURT! ... my lower left tooth developed a dry socket, and it is PAINFUL! I have been having to go to the dentist every couple of days, and it is definitely on the mend, so that is a relief. Despite all my grief about my teeth, it is nothing in comparison to the suffering the people at the Maryville First Baptist Church must be going through.

I sincerely pray that God will bring some peace to the families effected. What a horrible tragedy. It really is eye-opening, and makes one think of how fragile and unpredictable life truly is. Yet another meaningless loss of life. What a shame.

WiiMote Guitar Mod

This is totally crazy. These guys name VivianDarkBloomBand ... they modded a WiiMote to be able to do crazy guitar effects through motion. I think this is absolutely brilliant. Take a look at the YouTube vid for the guy demoing it.

Check them out at VivianDarkBloomBand.com . In other news Apple released some killer new lappys yesterday. Killer graphics, killer unibody "brick" type form factor, and killer looking machines. Would give my right thumb for one.

Well, friends, I have made a HUGE decision. Some of you may know what it is. Some of you may not ... but it is HUGE. I am very excited, nervous, and prayerful. I am hesitant to post it on the blog-o-sphere, so if you want to know ... gimme a call. BUT ... if you guys could just pray a little for me, that things will work out, and that everything will go to plan.

Well, there are two images that I ran across that I thought were extremely funny. Being a Star Trek fan ... (and I can't wait for XI btw) ... here are a couple of tributes to Picard. The Man. Jean-Luc Picard. AHH ... the genius behind the man. How relevant these images were to an event that just happened in my life, I thought it was divine intervention. Intervention to insert a little laughter into a dumb situation.

Long Days, Cool Pillows, and Neat Computers.

Well, hello my friends. Yes the days are getting longer. And no I don't just mean how much sunshine we are getting, (The longest day - sunshine wise was June 20) ... but these work / school days are really starting to kick me in the posterior. Have to be @ work around 6:30 - 7:00 in the morning (with a 1 hour commute each way) and then at school from 6:00 - 10:30 on M, Tu, and F. I thought I would share with you. (^) Pretty cool pillows if I do have to say so myself. Some more cool things from Apple in the way of the new version of OS X coming out in about a year. Apple's OS 10.6 "Snow Leopard" has some pretty cool new tricks up its sleeve. Some major changes to max RAM 10.6 allows for up to theoretical 16 TB of RAM. Yes ... you read that right TERRABYTES. Holy smoking RAM, Batman. To compliment tha insane amount of RAM is also new Multi-Core support with this handy dandy behind the scenes app called Grand Central. Purdy NEAT. Also, full MS Exchange support (which is great b/c iPhone will have Exchange support here in the next few weeks.) And the most anticipated thing for me is the new version of Quicktime coming out, Quicktime X. So with that I am going to bow out for now. confused ... yet living

Greetings to the cyber world from joshscruggs.

Well, I have purchased the new album that hit stores today by Coldplay. Viva la Vida. I am enjoying it very much. There are some great tracks so far. I will give you more of an update next time once I have had more of a chance to give the album a GOOD listen.

To update you all on the life 'o josh ... I have been working a lot. Going back to school. Going to ITT Tech. Learning a lot. Liking it a lot. Yet at the same time I have a few reservations. Just a few. I have decided, upon going back to school to pursue a degree titled CNS (Computer Network Systems) ... and this means that I am going to have to focus the majority of my energy toward a little bit different expertise than previously I had been working toward. This means leaving the world of design. At least departing this world of design as a pursuit professionally. As many of you know I have had a passion for video, web, graphic ... etc. I still love all of these areas. Sometimes, I feel like I pull myself in 110010 different directions. [side-note ... 110010 converted to decimal form is 50 ... courtesy of class last night I felt like expressing myself in binary numbers ... whew] I don't know. Hence the title of this post. confused ... yet living. When I sit down and think of a career, then weigh those options against a career in the design industry that has

-- good compensation

-- hours conducive to a family life

-- opportunity from a flourishing job market

I shy away from the design. I guess that I am making the right choice. I have prayed a lot, and hope that I am making a good choice. I guess that is all one can do in life. pray and hope. probably in that order. Well, I am back in school. Mega-money later and a little bit of time I will have a degree in CNS. So CNS it is.

SOOO ....

I went green, everybody. I got a hybrid. And I am not looking back. It is a '08 Toyo Prius. I am very happy with it. I am averaging about 45 mpg and it is a great thing for Vanessa and I. AND in the latest news ... I am 99.9% over my pink eye. which is a good thing. I also just finished the CA senior video ... and will be posting a link to it after the Jr./Sr. this Friday night. I would go ahead ... but in case there are any stray CA seniors perusing my blog (they are not allowed to see it until Friday night). It is a big relief to get that out of the way. Hello all.

SO ... I have a job interview in a little over thirty minutes. It is so exciting that I actually might get a good job that I believe that I will love. The interview is with Swank Audio Visuals. It is really promising, so hopefully something will come to fruition.

I saw "In the Name of the King" last night and it was HORRIBLE. One of the worst films I have seen in a long time. I was really disappointed. Uwe Bolle or whatever his name is that produced and directed it ran it into the ground. It felt like I was watching a budget film that went bad. Acting was so-so (mediocre to poor) ... but the shots, sequences, color and everything in general was so distractingly bad that I wanted to leave ... but for some strange reason felt compelled to stay. Oh well. Well, I guess that is about it ... I hope the interview goes well. Talk to you guys in a while.
